Major Moscow's Strikes Cut Electricity Across Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while inhabitants in eastern districts were left without electricity and encountered interruptions to drinking water, according to local authorities.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has intensified strikes on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while the country's government has requested "real steps" from allies to increase pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not window dressing but decisive action - from the US, Europe and the G7 - in delivering protection systems and implementing sanctions," was stated in a public message.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty rockets struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were laboring to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles hit energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the strikes on the capital have been taken to hospital, per statements from local officials.

Local officials said the metropolitan region came under significant strikes throughout the evening. A young boy was killed and multiple civilians were hurt.

The attacks follow periods of aerial attacks in the territory, portions of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to spot.

National leaders told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to damage the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already impacting gas facilities.

He said technical personnel and authorities were bracing for further attacks.
